We
hear a lot about our failing public schools and how students need to be more
involved in mathematics and science. The comparison is always made between the
United States and other developed foreign countries. However, just because the
United States doesn’t have the number of students excelling at mathematics as
it may have at one point in time doesn’t mean that there aren’t students out
there who excel at mathematics. There are a number of students who enjoy math
and are very comfortable with the work. Some may even be better explaining it
to other students than the teacher.
